I have been coughing like crazy with a plugged or runny nose. Im wondering if the cough is from allergies.

Could be allergies. Depending on where you live, March is the beginning of allergy season, unless you are one of the unlucky ones and have allergies all year. Flonase can help some with your symptoms,however, I take 10 mg of Zyrtec at bedtime and during major pollen season I take 10 mg in am per doctor recommendation. I also take 1200 mg extended release Mucinex at bedtime which lasts 12 hours. This stops my nasal/sinus drainage which causes my cough. There is also 400 mg and 600 mg immediate release. This time of year I usually take additional 600 mg immediate release around noon. I recommend you read list of ingredients because other meds can be added to Guaifenesin, such as Mucinex-D. If you are on prescription meds I suggest you check with your pharmacist on drug interaction. Some allergy meds shouldnt be taken with high blood pressure meds. Mucinex, brand name is expensive. The generic is cheaper, however still expensive. Because my husband and I take Mucinex-generic, we look for sales at local stores or order from Costco or Amazon.
